After a six-day jury trial in King County Superior Court, a 12-person jury returned a unanimous defense verdict for the firm’s client, Capstone Homes, Inc. Attorneys Maggie Sweeney and David Chawes, aided by a skilled legal staff, defended Capstone against a personal injury claim arising out of a workplace injury that occurred in Kitsap County in January 2006. The plaintiff alleged a permanent partial eye injury after he failed to properly wear his safety glasses at a home construction project. He asked the jury to award approximately $1.0 million dollars. After deliberating for 5 hours, the jury returned a defense verdict.

Tuesday, February 15th, 2011After a 7 day jury trial in Snohomish County Superior Court, a 12-person jury returned a defense verdict for the firm’s client, United Parcel Service, Inc. Eric P. Gillett and Rachel Tallon Reynolds defended UPS against the personal injury claim arising out of a dramatic two semi-truck collision that occurred on Interstate 5 near Chehalis, Washington in January 2009. The plaintiff alleged permanent brain injuries, memory loss, and cognitive dysfunction, as well as a multitude of physical injuries. He had not worked since the date of the accident. Plaintiff asked the jury to award approximately $2.3 million dollars. After deliberating for approximately 4 hours, the jury returned a defense verdict.
