Professional Experience

Earl Sutherland is an experienced civil defense litigator who as practiced law since 1981.  Earl began his practice in Alaska with the firm of Hughes, Thorsness, Gantz, Powell & Brundin.  Earl was a partner there for more than eight years before he and his family relocated to Seattle in 1994.  In Seattle, Earl worked at the law firm of Reed McClure and became a partner there.  In 2010, Earl joined Preg O'Donnell and Gillett as "of counsel" to the firm.

Earl's practice emphasizes errors and omissions claims involving lawyers, medical and dental, insurance industry and other professionals, including securities act claims; products liability, construction defect, premises liability and employment practice matters.  Earl also has an active practice representing clients on appeal.

 

Education

  • Earl received his Bachelor of Arts degree from Reed College in Portland, Oregon in 1978.
  • He received his law degree from University of Washington in 1981.
