Professional Experience

Mark Wilkerson is a highly experienced civil defense litigator specializing in jury trials. Mark has been trying cases since 1983, in Alaska, Washington, Oregon, and Montana. Mark's passion is trying cases to a jury, and teaching younger lawyers the techniques for trying cases to a jury.  Mark believes strongly that favorable settlements are a result of thorough trial preparation.  He has successfully tried more than 75 cases over his career ranging from products liability to bad faith.  Besides unraveling complex cases, trying cases, and teaching trial practice, Mark enjoys acting as an arbitrator and mediator.

Mark was a partner with the Alaska law firm of Guess & Rudd until 1993, at which time he started his own Alaska firm specializing in jury trials, Wilkerson and Associates. His Alaska office has been affiliated with Preg O'Donnell & Gillett's Seattle office since 1995. Mark continues to consult with both of his former firms in Alaska on complex litigation, but devotes the majority of his time to preparing and trying cases for Preg O’Donnell & Gillett.

Mark was born in Bozeman, Montana. He grew up in Washington and Montana, spent the majority of his professional life in Alaska, and now divides his time between Powder Mountain, Utah, and Seattle, Washington.


Mark received his Bachelor of Science degree from Willamette University, Salem,  Oregon in 1980.

Mark received his law degree from Willamette University College of Law, Salem, Oregon in 1983.

  • Mark is a lecturer and author on Trial Practice, Settlement of Personal Injury Cases, Uninsured Motorist Claims, and Insurance Bad Faith.
