- Mark O'Donnell and Emma Owings will be speaking at the Washington Schools Risk Management Pool "Athletic Liability Training" seminar scheduled for October 8, 2009, at the Puget Sound Educational Service office in Renton, WA, as well as November 18, 2009, at the Puget Sound Educational Service office in Anacortes, WA.
These presentations will discuss current athletic liability issues. They will discuss the proactive steps school districts can take to avoid both student injuries and legal liability land mines arising from both PE Classes and after school sports. Examples of current cases and the legal standard of care applicable in common sports and athletic scenarios will be discussed.
