Mark O’Donnell and David Chawes represent employers in contesting alleged safety violations in Washington Industrial Safety and Health Act (WISHA) appeals.
Mark prevailed before the Washington Supreme Court in The Erection Company v. Department of Labor and Industries, which effectively challenged the WISHA resumption process. Mark has also handled dozens of WISHA cases involving serious and willful violations arising from construction projects and oil refineries. He has been a presenter on WISHA, construction worksite injuries, and appealing violations at construction seminars.
David Chawes is a certified industrial hygienist (retired). Prior to becoming a lawyer, David was a risk manager for an environmental engineering firm. David’s real-world experience and Mark’s experience in contested hearings before the Board of Industrial Insurance Appeals offer a unique combination of skills and passion to assist clients in WISHA matters.
